Detailed History: Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Charlie was the oldest of three kids (having a younger sister and brother). He grew up in a lower-middle class family just trying to make ends meet, and had a fairly normal upbringing.
At 15, he was caught by his father giving his virginity to a classmate; his father threw the girl out with her clothes and called her parents to inform them what the two had been doing. To add insult to the humiliation, Charlie's father beat him to instill the lesson that one should not have sex before marriage.
At 17, Charlie got Elizabeth White (age 18) pregnant. She bore their son, Nikolas. The two promised to get married, and Charlie went into the U.S. Army as soon as he is able to get the money to provide for his son and baby's mother, and in a way to escape the responsibility of raising a child.
Age 25, Charlie has been stationed in Wurzburg, Germany for just under a year. He meets Laurelei Hahn, and after six months becomes engaged to her. They get a house together and are soon married, and not long after that Laurelei becomes pregnant and Adele is born. Charlie is able to extend his stay in Wurzburg to be with Laurelei and Adele, and distances himself from Elizabeth and Nikolas.
Age 29, Charlie becomes increasingly distant with people and has shown hostile tendencies. He becomes ever more rough at home with Laurelei and his temper is quick to flare. He finally gets into a fight with a fellow soldier at the base. Charlie is discharged from the Army for his emotional disturbances, and moves in permanently with Laurelei and Adele, finding work at a local warehouse.
As his violent tendencies continue, Charlie becomes disgusted with the sight of Laurelei's eldest children and has them sent to Laura's sister on the Germany/Austria border. It's after the two older children leave that his beatings of Laura get worse and he starts to attack Adele as well.
Things escalate sporadically. At age 37, Charlie rapes 12 year old Adele. Laurelei calls the cops on him and he is arrested and sent to prison for statutory rape, molestation charges and multiple accounts of assault against Laurelei and Adele. He is sentenced to a minimum of 15 years in the German prison system.
Age 42, after serving just five years, the company Wolfram and Hart strike a deal with Charlie and set him free. He is placed under a restraining order that he cannot come within 15 kilometers of Adele, cannot contact her in any way, including through a medium. He cannot come within 10 kilometers of Laurelei or meet with her in any private place. But he moves back to Wurzburg anyway, living in a home just 2km away from Laurelei's, occasionally staying at her place with her.
Adele finds out Charlie is released and visits him one night. During her visit, Adele beats Charlie within a centimeter of his life, and leaves him for dead. From Adele's encounter, her blood and saliva fall into Charlie's wounds, transferring the Lycan gene to him. Charlie lives and heals painfully. Almost two years later, Charlie is now searching for his daughter with a hateful vengeance.
