Luke tried his best to read Adele's response to his story through her facial expressions as he told his little tale. And the end of the story when she responded to him, he felt bad because he felt as the reason why he told the story was not the reason she believed he told the story to her. "I am sorry, like I said I was not trying to persuade you to one side or another, I was not trying to charm you into believing my story. I was just trying to get it out on the table. Now there is a lot to this story that I'm probably missing details on, I am only seeing this story from a humanistic point of view. I don't know this point of view from a werewolf, to some it must be a great honor or something to be chosen by this leader, Alena? And to those same people they would probably believe that in any situation involving something like this that anything to get to that prestigious position would be a necessary sacrifice. And in this war with vampires and werewolves, casualties happen I assume. But to take a life unnecessarily doesn't make a lot of sense to someone like me. That's why even though it makes me sick I still eat regular food because I won't take a life unless I absolutely have to. And now I would pose a question to you to help put it in the perspective that I have seen it in. Would you have seen the story the same way if Alena had killed more werewolves to get Geoff, would you still stand by everything she had done if one of the werewolves she had killed had at one point been very close to you? I assume you like being a werewolf, so what if it was the one that had turned you?
Luke paused for a moment realizing that he had probably gone way to far and overstepped his bounds. "I'm sorry, I don't know where that came from, I apologize. Well I mean I do but I shouldn't have gone that far. If it pleases you we can talk about something else if you wish."

Wow, did he really just ask that? Adele looked up at Luke, not quite sure what her reaction should be. Part of her wanted to be angry and storm out of the coffee shop, but as the Hybrid apologized she realized he was just trying to get his point across. Looking back down with her golden eyes, the young woman said sadly, "My Sire died the night of my first transformation. But I understand what you're trying to get at. I'd have been pissed if Alena had killed him." She still felt a little uncomfortable, and to try and hide it she took another drink from her latte. Adele drank coffee like she drank her booze: in quick, deep swigs; and soon her drink was depleted. "I'd like it if we could change the subject..." ...even though she'd technically brought the last one up. Adele stopped biting her lip; she supposed she should suggest a new topic, but what? Luke had already told her a lot about what he knew of being a Hybrid, more, perhaps, than he might have meant to. But what about the two that had bitten him to make him what he was? Well, she already knew Geoff, but what about the Leech? If the Vampire, Ahmad, resided near to where Luke lived, then it was possible he was still in the near vicinity and should be dealt with. "What else do you know of the Vampire that bit you, Luke?" From what it sounded like, though, the Hybrid might not know much else of Ahmad.

Luke felt an increasing presence of awkwardness between them as the silence between the two seemed to resound like a loud gong in the entire town. But then Adele started to ask about the vampire that had attacked him and bit him to contribute to the vampire half of him. "I don't know much about the vampire Ahmad that bit me. Apparently he was in the area trying to gain some intel on Geoff and his set up. I only met him by accident like I think I might have said earlier. He at first seemed nice enough but very preoccupied. He was about to leave me alone until I mentioned Geoff. He then sat down and talked to me, he told me that he was only passing through on a short vacation and was living in Sweden or something but was planning on moving sometime in the near future. So I don't know where he would be now. I can only assume that he had to kill someone to move into his new place so if you hear on any mass killings or the like that would probably be Ahmad. He said he was actually born in Jerusalem but then moved to Rome at some point. I can't say how much of the story is true and how much is a cover story or something like that. But when he saw Geoff and they went at it, they tried to bite each other to kill each other or something and I got in the way and got both bites at the same time. Geoff told me that Ahmad is an old enemy, at least 2000 years old or so. Probably Jesus' enemy or something back in the day." Luke laughed to himself a little as he said that but then regained himself. "I think the attack drove him out and he probably wouldn't be back for sometime since he knew then where Geoff was set up. But I can't wait for the day to come when I get a chance to kill him, because anyone who threatens my family and I will kill him. But unfortunately I don't know where to find him." Luke just sat sipping his coffee, but then noticing he was making an annoying sipping noise as he did that so he quickly set it down and just sat pondering any other thoughts about Ahmad that he could think of. "The only other thing that Geoff told me was that he believe that Ahmad was very high up in the vampire chain of command, he's not the top but he could even be the number two vampire. Second only to one named Dane I think is what Geoff said Dane or Dan or something like that."

"Hmm..." It was strange that the Vampire had told so much to Luke, "It's not likely he was living in Sweden." Could it really be possible that he was the 2nd in command of all Vampires? He sounded old enough to be. The name Dane sounded familiar... sort of. She couldn't tell if she had heard it before in relation to being the new Vampire King or if she only thought it was familiar cause she was supposed to know it. It wouldn't have surprised her to have heard the name from Alena before though. To Adele, a Vampire was a Vampire, and that meant they needed to die, she didn't care about their name or where they were from; all that mattered was that they die. She laughed at Luke's sipping noises and sat back in the booth, crossing her arms over her chest. "It's unforunate Ahmad fled... But if I had to guess, I'd say it's a good chance your Vampire might be in London if he's so high up in the chain of command. The Vampires have their biggest stronghold there." Frowning, Adele added, "It isn't a place you should enter on your own though... you'd be better to have an army with you."

"True, and I'm not exactly going to be able to sneak in there. But if the moment presents itself then I will probably go for it but in the mean time I'm not in any condition to be fighting anyone. I barely even know what I can do. Geoff could only tell me so much." Luke shifted in his seat kind of uncomfortable, not knowing what to say next. He went back to sipping his coffee only to realize he was making a noise again, then after what felt like an eternity of sitting awkwardly he finally thought of something to say. "So tell me a little about yourself." Suddenly realizing that he sounded like some weird interviewer for the job. "I'm sorry." He really didn't know what to do or what to say. He didn't want to say anything that might anger her or make her leave. She was the first person to sit and talk this long to Luke in a while. After Luke became a hybrid he really didn't have anyone to talk to so he really liked this opportunity. So he figured it best to just sit and wait for Adele to respond.

"Best way to figure out what you can do is through trial and error," Adele shrugged, "But I'd start out simple first." Adele sat their comfortably sitting in the silence, thinking about what she'd just said. She was encouraging a newly bitten to go out and get his ass kicked. Hopefully he wouldn't die by starting out with with grunts and baby bats. Her own first encounter with Vampires had been with a stronger one, and had ended terribly; though she'd been lucky and the Vampire had spared her, even tried helping her before Szandor came to swoop her away back home. The young woman could only hope it would end as decently for Luke. When he asked Adele about herself, she froze for a moment, unsure of what to say. These were the parts of the conversation that she never looked forward to, but she supposed after everything Luke had told her about himself, she owed him something. "I'm German." As if he might not have been able to tell by her accent. Adele looked around the small coffee shop, eyeing the waitress and customers as if what she was about to say might be confidential. "I was 16 when I was bitten by my Sire, which is probably why I still look so young even though it's been about 7 years now." She paused, doing the math in her head, "Yeah, about 7 years." What else should she say? "I live here for part of the year and in Sweden for the other part. I try to balance my Human life with my Werewolf life, but recently it seems my duties as a Werewolf have held more sway. It's sort of why I come here, to relax and get away from the rest of the Pack, but this time I have some... friends with me." Speaking of which, she was supposed to be out looked for Pete, oh well, he could wait a little longer. She was kind of enjoying this chat, besides, maybe Damien had already found Pete and they were back at Perrin's villa right now

Other than the context of the conversation being about things like how it's like to be a hybrid or living as a lycan or when you were bitten, Luke felt like he was actually in a normal human experience. And he let his mind fade into that aspect but still paid attention to what Adele was saying. "Do you ever think though I mean if you were still human you could have lived life as a super model, a German supermodel."He imagined it for a moment until he realized what just came out of his mouth, "I mean you could still be a model except for the lycan part, I mean I like lycans, they can be hot too. I mean you are a very attractive lycan girl I mean I'm just gonna shut up now before I dig myself any deeper now that I'm six feet down." He laughed a little at his own joke but then sat kinda awkwardly there hoping Adele wouldn't kill him for what he had just said.

"A supermodel...?" What does that have to do with anything? Adele wondered about that for a good few moments, not understanding what Luke was trying to say. The instant it clicked in her mind, her face turned bright red and she looked down at the table. What started as a nervous giggle quickly turned to unabashed laughter as Adele thought about what Luke just said. Was this is attempt at picking her up? She could honestly say no one had ever compared her to a model before, but it was kind of flattering, "Um, I, no... I've never thought of that before." As an after thought, she added, "Girls like me don't become models." Girls from broken homes with abusive fathers; girls who grew up covered in bruises and went to bed each night dreading the next day. Models came from loving families and had friends who told them how pretty they are. Besides, Adele would rather get her teeth pulled without any anethetic than stand half naked in front of cameras and a bunch of people. Maybe she was over-thinking this; was it really so hard for her to take a compliment? Part of her wondered what this Hybrid wanted. Was he trying to get her to let her guard down for some devious reason? Truth be told, Adele had dropped her guard since talking with this man, and there was probably no real reason for her to be suspicious. But her inability to take compliments was making her wary. "Why a supermodel in particalar? Why not anything else?"

When Adele questioned what he had just said, he had hoped that she would brush it off and ignore it entirely. Clearly that had failed though, Luke had just wanted to bury his face into the table or to shrink down or turn invisible and walk away he felt embarrassed. His face began to blush and he began to mumble a little hoping that she would figure out what he wanted her to figure out. "Well... you could do anything you want... it's just that.. you are so pretty that I thought you looked like a model... but if you take offense to that I'm sorry... You are just a very pretty girl.. I mean woman.. I mean lady." His face was bright red as if he had just been sunburned, but then he thought of a way to redirect it and change the subject hoping to take the embarrassment off of him. "Wait! What do you mean girls like you don't become models? You mean lycan girls? I could still see you as a model, more so since being a lycan means you're tough." He had hoped to divert his embarrassment and redirect the attention back to Adele. He had also hoped to hide his feelings about her that seemed to start to arise inside of him. "I mean if it's something you don't want to talk about then we can totally move onto something else entirely in our fun little conversation." Smooth Luke, real smooth he thought to himself in a real sarcastic tone. He only hoped that Adele wouldn't totally brush him off now and just walk away like Luke thought she would do.

Adele could feel her cheeks turning red, but she laughed despite herself as Luke spoke more plainly. He was clearly just as uncomfortable about what he'd said as she was, and it was sort of a relief; but then he asked her to clarify what she meant and she froze momentarily. Quickly, she went when the Hybrid's suggestion, "Um, yeah, Lycan girls. That's what I meant. I mean, we live forever and don't age, so it would be hard to be in the public eye cause someone would catch on. And you'd have to fake your death or something." I'm rambling... "I can't even imagine all those people watching every move you make anyway. Being a model would be too... much pressure." That made Adele laugh a little, "Although being a Lycan was pretty stressful at first too." After a brief pause, she decided to explain herself; she felt like she could talk candidly with Luke. "My Sire was one of the more powerful leaders among the Werewolves. He answered only to our queen. When he died... he gave me all of his power. Since then, I've been trying to make him proud. But it's a bit intimidating to think I'll have to live up to what his position in the pack was." Flagging down the waitress, Adele ordered another latte. She wondered how Hybrids distributed power amongst themselves. They probably had similar ways as Werewolves. "Have you met many other Hybrids, Luke? You're the first I've met, though I've heard others exist of course."
