BACKGROUND
Personality: Free-spirited...
Detailed History: Born in 1443 near the Incan capital of Cuzco (Peru), Pacha was one of the elite few, born specifically to be sacrificed to appease the gods and king. During dire crises, the Inca would sacrifice 'perfectly-formed' children who exhibited healthy, strong and beautiful bodies to assure the gods' favor and the king's health. Pacha's father was a governor under their ruler Pachacuti, and to secure his bond with his king, Pacha was offered up as a sacrifice. It was thought that Pacha, in the afterlife, would escort her king to the gods in his death.
Pacha was 6 years old, when she was marched side-by-side with fellow 'sacrificial lamb', Urcon, through the capital Cuzco and to the summit of the nearby mountain. With the local chiefs, and the high ruler Pachacuti, himself present, alongside Pacha and Urcon's parents and a select few other governors, the children prepared to die for their people. Dressed in the finest robes, Pacha and Urcon were given a final feast before their deaths, with enough alcohol to inebriate a grown man. Drunk and on the verge of passing out, the children were led to their graves and buried alive. The last thing Pacha remembered of that night was the complete darkness, and the weight of the dirt bearing down heavily on her.
Sometime in the night, after the sacrificial ceremony had finished and the chieftains had all left, a visitor came to the site of the two small graves. This was no ordinary visitor, as the children would come to find out. The visitor bent, digging into the ground with her hands, searching for the children buried beneath. Deeper and deeper she dug, until first Pacha, and then Urcon were revealed to her. The woman carried the two children off into the mountains, traveling much of the night to a secluded cove.
The visitor, Amaru, turned out to be a Vampire, and for the following ten years, Pacha and Urcon grew up under her tutiledge. The young girl grwe up knowing only Urcon as a friend, and Amaru as her only superior. She had a pretty free childhood, if a little lonely. Because of Amaru's particular affliction, Urcon and Pacha were not encouraged to venture out during the day. Yet, a child's will is not so easily discouraged, and Pacha would often watch from afar as her Inca brethren went about their business without a care for her existence.
Amaru's love was passionate, but could be fickle. Her mood dictated her level or lack of benevolence and it could turn with the changing of the wind. From the moment Amaru rescued Pacha and Urcon, her intentions were clear: she loved them, and if they valued their lives, they would love her in return. As Pacha neared her 17th year, Amaru grew more and more excited. While the Vampire insisted she didn't play favorites, the night she invited Pacha into the fold was the night her lust got the better of her. "I want you to stay this beautiful forever, Pacha." Those were Amaru's words before she took away Pacha's humanity, and infected her with Vampirism. Urcon's induction came some years later, and during this time, Pacha's feelings for her childhood mate, and her resentment toward Amaru, began to grow.
For decades more, the three Vampires lived together in the mountains, hunting and enjoying their immortality. Pacha and Urcon became ever closer, but because of Amaru's jealousy and rage, the two had to be very discreet. Amaru had claimed both of the young Vampire's humanity as well as their purity, and she coveted both for herself. It was because of Amaru that Pacha and Urcon could say they were alive, but Pacha wanted to live as she chose.
A century more passed before Pacha would attempt to revolt against her mistress. As the years grew on, the Vampire that was once a girl became stronger than she ever imagined she'd be. By the early 1600's, the Incan Vampire was becoming quite tired of living in fear of Amaru. She wanted to run away with Urcon and be done with the old Bat. Together they hatched a plan to escape the rule of their Sire.
Unfortunately for Pacha and Urcon, before they followed through with their plan, Amaru caught them in an intimate moment, and in jealousy tore Urcon away from Pacha, slaughtering him on site. His death happened so quickly, his blood splashing over Pacha, there was nothing she could do, and she lunged at Amaru, striking her as hard as she could. Her attacks were in vain, and Amaru beat the young Vampire to the brink of death, saying that only her love for Pacha spared her the same fate as Urcon.
Her body and spirit broken, Pacha remained with Amaru for almost a century more before trying to break free on her own. In 1709, Pacha tried to exact her revenge on her sire, attacking the older Vampire in her sleep. The fight did not go as Pacha had hoped it would; her sire had truly been awake, merely lying in wait to smack her ambitious underling back in line. Once again, Pacha was beaten to the brink of death. Amaru proclaimed her generosity at sparing the girl's unlife and for forgiving her transgressions. After this attempt at Amaru's life, the older Vampire held Pacha on an even shorter leash.
Finally in 1892, Pacha gained her revenge and freedom from Amaru, killing her in a viscous fight that lasted hours.
Since then, Pacha has traveled across Peru and into the neighboring countries as well. Although she keeps to herself, she must hunt every other night to sate her bloodlust and keep it from taking over her. Pacha has steered clear of big cities and technology, much preferring to deal with the peoples of smaller tribes and villages.
