Adele sat comfortably on the log, staring into the fire as Pablo began his tale, moving her feet slowly to make a hardened, flat patch of snow in front of her, gnawing on jerky. She was amazed and excited to hear all that Pablo and Pete had been through. The talk of a bird-girl sounded so absurd to Adele, but she supposed that being a Werewolf wasn't exactly normal either. Interestingly enough, some of the people mentioned sounded familiar; certainly Rickter did. Adele would likely never forget meeting him. But she also vaguely recalled the name Mikel Machernum. There was only one thing she didn't quite get.
"You what with a princess!?" Adele considered herself pretty fluent in English: her dad was American and thus English was occasionally spoken around the house, and the city she grew up in was near a United States Army base, so many citizens and classmates knew at least rudimentary English. But 'abscond' was not a word the blonde had ever come across before.
Straightening as Pete directed the conversation toward the gold eyes Adele and Damien shared, the girl glanced over to the son of her Sire to see what he thought of such a question. His grimace was about what she was expecting, and the girl could feel her nerves rising slightly. She dropped an empty zip-lock bag into the fire and watched as the plastic began to melt and curl in the heat, taking another sip of the rum and setting the bottle into the snow.
"Well," Adele's smile was small and sort of forced, her cheeks flushed red from the cold, "You're kind of the odd one out tonight, Pete." She ripped a bite of jerky off and chewed before continuing, "You've known Pablo for years it sounds like. So he may have mentioned who the Werewolf who bit him was? Perrin Golden-eyes." The girl tensed slightly, staring into the fire, but keeping her focus in the corners of her eyes for any sudden movement Damien might make. Any other time, Adele wouldn't have terribly minded speaking on the subject. It had been 6 years since she became a Lycan, and while it was one of the most important events in her life, she'd gotten over much of the shock and hurt that came when her Sire died. Having Damien sitting so close to her as she talked about this now, when they'd been fighting for years over this very subject, was not ideal, and Adele shifted on the log slightly. "Perrin's namesake is for his, well, golden eyes, of course. Damien inherited the eyes because Perrin is his father." Adele paused slightly, licking her lips, and tucking a thread of blonde hair behind her ear, "I was the last Lycan Perrin made. Um, my eyes changed at my first transformation, and Perrin died as the sun came up on my first night. He said he gave his strengths to me when he bit me, and I guess I got his eyes too."
Adele waited a moment to see if Damien had anything to say before adding, "The night after my first transformation I had the.... I ran into the Vampire Rickter as well, in Greece. He was accompanied by two women and tried assaulting the Villa Perrin called home. They never got into the Villa, but I don't remember much that happened after confronting them. Rickter got me with 2 silver bullets and I was taken some place strange." Her fingers traced where one of the bullets had hit her in the chest subconsciously, but then Adele grinned and looked up at Pete and Pablo, "I hope you guys gave him a good ass kicking."
