The hybrid listened as Catherine searched for the words to explain her lust, even as she'd begun playing. Finding such pleasure, watching the change in her enemy's eyes; it did sound very appealing. And yet, Lucia had been quite satisfied with dealing out Victor's death. True, it had stirred certain desires in her, desires Pablo had fulfilled quite adequately, but she wasn't sure she would have been any more satisfied by prolonging the traitor's life to have him serve her for even a moment.
"You're very welcome." After resuming her seat beside the vampire, allowing Catherine to hold her close, Lucia relaxed against the woman.
She listened quietly as her companion spoke, refraining from immediately answering to consider the vampire's words. Catherine's fingers through her hair might have been calming were the topic of conversation different; but the hybrid found herself frowning slightly at the mention of Pablo. "I think perhaps- I hope Pablo may be an exception. His hate and distrust for vampire-kind was born during an incident that occurred when he was not yet a lycan." Lucia withheld the detail that Pablo had come from a family of hunters that had excelled in the extermination of both vampires and lycans for generations. "There must be some werewolves willing to look beyond the hate." There was some small amount of hope in her voice, though she knew it would take time and a lot of effort.
When Catherine inquired as to the motives of her grandfather, Lucia offered the smallest of shrugs, "That, I cannot say." Raven had laughed about the war on multiple occasions, though the girl had never quite understood why.
-------------
The city of Stockholm was quiet as the procession neared its dropoff point about a mile away from the Den's property. There was little in the way of artificial light along this road, and only silence seemed to loom in the near distance.
As their car stopped and the door was opened, Lucia carefully stepped out of the vehicle, adjusting the sword at her hip as she looked around. She kept her face neutral, but the hybrid was not pleased to be back. A couple meters off the road, trees grew enmasse, and at some point within those woods, a tall, sturdy fence marked the border of the lycan's property.
Lucia looked around as more of her subjects stepped out of their cars, meeting a few of the vampires' gazes, but cast her focus back to the darkness beyond the trees. She could pick up the scent of the lycans occupying the property, although it was much more faint than it should have normally been. Perhaps the wolves were not venturing out as far with their queen gone...

Shortly following Lucia, Catherine stepped outside the vehicle, smiling softly at her Queen. Their trip had been more enlightening than expected, and Lucia’s eagerness to please had proven a relief. Though her desire had been sated her hunger had not. Once the battle began, it was her first order of business, find a suitable meal, and then locate one of Perrin’s heirs. She made her way to a large contingency of soldiers awaiting her presence. They along with another portion of soldiers split from the larger forces. Moving to flank another side of the property.
Dane’s vehicle was the first to arrive. By the time the Queen had stepped out of the car he was overseeing their movement. The plan was simple, flank three sides of the property, leave a side open for any cowardly lot to flee, close in an encircle the mansion. His gaze found Lucia’s, though he did not immediately acknowledge the girl until she seemed to notice his presence. He flashed a smile, bowing quickly. “My Queen.” Standing straight he moved towards her side. The girl did not seem as eager as expected, perhaps returning to this place was uneasy. He’d though she would be excited to seize her ‘destiny’.
“Lucia,” He spoke quietly, reaching to squeeze her hand reassuringly. “You hide it well, but you needn’t worry. The road to victory is pathed with difficult steps. I know this may be the hardest step yet, but it means we draw towards the end. Embrace it.” Dane stepped forward, surveying their soldiers once more. “Everything is nearly in order. Our gunmen will provide cover fire while we dispose of their sentries. Once the fence is down we enclose on them.” He explained quickly. Vampires armed with assault rifles stepped made their ways towards the front. Once upon a time meeting a lycan force out in the wild by their homeland none the less would have been slaughter. But silver bullets; human technology proved to be the great equalizer. Dane followed just behind the first row of soldiers, Lucia by his side. Pausing as further into the woods the fence marking the properties boundaries came into view. Gunfire broke out. First from within the fence, and then towards it as the vampires returned fire. Dane grabbed Lucia’s hand and smiled, pulling her safely behind a tree “I’ll be waiting for you on the other side.” He said, briefly kissing the hybrid before turning to run. The vampire was a blur disappearing as he ran head first into the fence. A portion of the once sturdy wall exploding upon contact. The debris scattered across the battlefield leaving a sizable gap. There was the sound of panic, lycan yelling out commands, others crying out in pain. Dane found a nearby gunmen, shrapnel in his leg the lycan trying to crawl away. His eyes flashed red at the sight of the beasts’ blood, but a lycan unable to shift was no interest to him. Easily he grabbed the lycan by the scruff of the neck, and tossed him back towards the gap and the incoming horde.

Adele woke in a cold sweat, her heart racing. An unseen, yet overwhelming sense of terror filled her. Her eyes adjusted quick to the darkness, and she glanced about her empty room. Nothing struck her as being out of place, yet she couldn't shake this feeling of dread.
Slowly sitting up in bed, Adele shivered, pulling a blanket around her shoulders. It smelled like Damien; she still wore the hoodie her sire's son had offered her earlier. She was alone now, but Damien had stayed with her at her hesitant request. He remained beside her for longer than she'd expected, and though it felt a little strange lying so close to someone, Damien of all people, his presence helped relax Adele enough that she was able to sleep. Though she hadn't slept for too long, it'd been the easiest sleep the young woman had gotten in recent memory. She might have even felt somewhat refreshed were it not for the tension in the air.
Slipping out of bed, Adele stretched, shrugging off the blanket and adjusting Damien's hoodie. On the nightstand beside her bed, a plate of lettuce and various other vegetables had been left, including a pair of bread rolls. Picking up one of the rolls, the young woman sniffed it hesitantly; her stomach growled loudly. She hadn't been able to keep much food down since Rome; even just the smell of meat, which used to make her mouth water, now made her sick to her stomach.
Clenching a fist as she took a small bite from the roll, Adele could feel tears begin to well up; Damien had left this food for her. He'd been so nice to her the last few days. She almost didn't know how to handle it.
Taking another bite of bread, the blonde found herself wandering over to the window. Her room sat in the back of the den on the third floor; her window looked out to the forest behind the mansion. All was dark and quiet. From what Adele could tell, very little of the den's residents had left the premises lately; yet since emerging from the cells below with Okello, the den had been the most quiet she'd ever experienced. Even now, beyond the walls of her room, there was an eerie silence to the property.
Turning away from the window, Adele placed what was left of the roll back on the plate for later. She'd managed to eat about half of it just fine, but didn't want to push her luck.
Adele walked out into the hallway on the third floor, tucking a strand of long, blonde hair behind an ear. Worry plagued her mind. She knew she hadn't slept long, but what if it was long enough that Reece had returned and the rescue party had already left? Her ribs still ached a little, but physically the young woman felt better than she had for the better part of two weeks. She may still have been a bit sleep deprived, but there was no way in hell she was going to be left behind to sit idly by while her friend had been wrongly accused and was in danger.
It was as she was about to descend the stairs to the second floor that Adele heard gunfire, followed by the sound of an explosion in the near distance, then two more explosions from different parts of the property. The werewolf froze for a moment, listening hard to determine where the closest threat was; she could feel her pulse increase in her chest. Within the den, now, she could hear frantic movements, children and younger lycans being ushered deeper into the mansion, away from exterior walls and exposed windows. There was an urgency present in the silence; there were few spoken words, but Adele could hear crying as pups were led to the relative safety within the great hall below.
"Odin..." Reaching for her necklace, Adele ran back toward her room. She was shaking as she pulled off Damien's hoodie first, then struggled to remove her jeans to toss them onto her bed.
Rapid footsteps running across the roof drew the young woman's attention, then the sound of a window breaking on the floor below pulled her away. -Gods, how many are there?-
Still in her human skin, Adele sprinted back down the hall, skipping stairs on her way to the second floor. Glancing quickly behind her, down the hall, Perrin's heir moved toward the room where she'd heard the window break. She knew there were a couple families down this corridor with kids who'd not yet experienced their first transformation.
Nearing the end of the hall, Adele could just make out the sound of faint footsteps. Mid-stride, the young woman fell forward onto all fours, running forth in her dire wolf form. Something heavy fell to the floor in one of the rooms she was fast approaching, and then the sound of a young girl crying split down the hall. It broke through the silence and filled Adele with dread. She prayed she was wrong, but even before bursting into the room, she knew the sound prior to the scream had been that of a body hitting the floor.
Passing the threshold of the room confirmed her suspicion; the smell of Pack's blood hit her hard. Near the shattered window, the mangled corpse of a lycan had been carelessly tossed aside. In the far corner, a girl no older than 7 stood sobbing, holding tight to one of the grey wolves that inhabited the den and called the nearby forest its home. A young man whiping off a silver blade stepped closer to the girl as the wolf standing guard bared his teeth. This man carried the putrid smell of the undead. Without hesitation, Adele jumped toward the intruder. Shifting up to her bipedal form mid-lunge, the white werewolf tackled the vampire to the ground, sinking her teeth deep into the arm the blood-sucker had brought up in defense. His flesh tasted rotten and vile, but the lycan tore violently with her jaws, bringing her claws up to rend more of the vampire.
Her enemy struggled, trying to fight back and dislodge his arm from Adele's vicegrip, but found himself being thrown into a wall as the lycan shook him hard, breaking his arm. The vampire cried out in pain, but the white werewolf was upon his quick, tearing him piece by piece, making quick work of the intruder.
When the vampire moved no more and Adele was satisfied she'd killed him, she turned her bloodied muzzle toward the girl clinging to the grey wolf. Gazing down at the child with gold eyes as she neared, Adele scooped the girl up in her large arms, and fled from the room, to deliver the pup and her guardian to the great hall for better protection.

Offering Dane a small smile at his attempt to reassure her, the girl nodded, watching as more of her subjects gathered arms and formed their line. He sounded so optimistic, so sure they were nearing the end of their plight. The hybrid wished she felt the same assuredness. Yet the plan here seemed simple enough.
Lucia made her way into the trees, matching Dane's stride. At the sound of gunfire, the girl ducked slightly, searching the distance for the source before she was pulled behind a tree. Bringing a hand up to caress the vampire's cheek as they kissed, Lucia smiled as he pulled away. His lips tasted so sweet; the girl watched as he ran into the fray, until she could no longer see him.
Glancing up at the tree she was using as cover, Lucia jumped, reaching for the nearest branch to climb higher. Winding her way around branches to the highest point she could reach, the girl stood carefully before jumping into the air. Her transformation was quick and smooth, and as her wings spread, she soared high into the sky. Flying fast, out of range of the gunfire, Lucia turned, letting herself fall rapidly back down into the action, toward the mansion.
Below her, she caught sight of Dane dispatching easily of a pup in his way. A grin spread her face, and the girl flew toward him. Reaching out as she neared, Lucia looped her arms underneath Dane's armpits, pulling his back to her chest and holding him tight as she pushed into the sky again. His smell was intoxicating, and the girl found herself biting her lip; but endeavored to stay focused.
There were multiple gunmen along the roof, and that's where the hybrid set her focus. Swooping down, Lucia placed Dane carefully on the roof, stopping to make sure his feet were beneath him before charging at the nearest werewolf. Grabbing one on the south side of building, she flew into the air once more, holding her victim close. The lycan squirmed in her arms, fumbling his firearm as he tried to grab onto the girl for some stability. He smelled of fear, and whimpered quietly as he was taken higher. The girl dug her claws into the werewolf's chest, the skin in his human form seperating easily. The man screamed, his blood quickly spilling forth; and as his life fled, Lucia let him fall to the trees below.
Folding her wings slightly to descend rapidly, the girl returned to the roof, spotting another lycan, and barreling into her hard. Pinning the pup beneath her, Lucia skidded the woman along the shingles, sending fist after fist into the lycan's body. In their human forms, werewolves seemed so fragile to the girl; her target was dead far too soon.
Standing, Lucia looked down at the dead pup beneath her momentarily, frowning in disappointment. But her attention didn't stay there long as sounds of conflict rose all around her. Looking around, the girl found Dane and sped toward his side, all the while keeping an eye out for their enemy.

To their credit the lycan reacted quickly. As Dane casually tossed aside one of their comrades the werewolves took form, shifting, and retreating in unison as his horde came crashing through the gap. He glanced at his forces and then the lycan as they ran, giving them a seconds heads up before he acted. Silver knife in hand, Dane gave pursuit, catching the slowest straggler with ease, running beside the lycan he lashed out with his blade. Slicing the beast’s achiless heel, sending him sprawling into the forest floor as the horde caught up, swarming the lycan. Tearing and stabbing at him with hand and blade. Dane’s eyes found his next target. Another pup, too slow to remain with the core of their pack. He lunged at the beast, knife first into the lycan’s rib cage. The sweet scent of lycan blood greeting him, though as much as he liked to indulge now was not the place, not present among his forces. A closed fist followed shortly, shattering a rib and plunging his hand into the lycan’s chest. As the beast died and begin to shift down the shadow of a winged figure enveloped Dane. Lucia, he can feel the girl’s arm close around him, hold him tight before taking to the air again. Initially he tensed, held in the arms of a monster, with insatiable desire. Luckily for their sake Lucia behaved, taking him straight to the mansion’s rooftop, perfect.
Lucia’s care in guiding Dane onto the roof was unneeded. It provided the time for two of the gunmen to shift forms, tossing their weapons aside. He met their gazes, smiling, poor beast had no idea the hand fate had dealt them. He upon the first lycan in an instant, driving a fist into the lycan’s throat. As the beast flinched he lifted his leg and followed with a kick, delivering a blow to the chest, toppling the beast off the rooftop. They were certain to survive the fall, but gave him a moment repry, alone with his prey. He ducked as the lycan attempted catch him off guard. Spinning within the lycan’s reach he burried his blade into the beast torso. By a hand on the hilt of his blade, he drove the lycan up, inches off the ground before slamming it back onto the rooftop. He followed, kneeling on the beast chest, grabbing the lycan by the throat, and twisting his head to meet the beast gaze. He held the dagger’s tip to the lycan’s eye. “Shift, or you die a slow painful death.” He said, licking his lips. Digging the dagger into it’s chin for encouragement, the werewolf took to his human form.
By the time the hybrid was done with her two beast, Dane held the lycan easily in his arms, the beast back to the vampire’s chest. The vampire shivered lightly. Though he would pale in taste to Alena his warmth was pleasing. “Lucia,” He said, knowing no more words were needed. His hand wrapped around the beast held him nearly provocatively. When Lucia closed in, he plunged his fangs into one side of the lycan’s throat, as Lucia drank from the other. He could hear the lycan moan, tense, and then fall limp between their arms as they drained him off his life force. Once the beast was dry, Dane withdrew his fangs, immediately taking Lucia in hand and drawing her close for a kiss. He pulled away, just enough to motion to the battlefield. “Can you feel the moment draw near. How does it feel, knowing it’s all for you?” He met her lips once more as the battle raged on around them. The horde of vampires enclosed the mansion, slowly closing in as the lycan returned gun fire.
Catherine’s first order of business was to feed. Though Lucia had sated her unexpected desires, it was her hunger that needed true sating. Lycan blood, riveting and sweet. Finding a target was easy, a beast far from the battlefield alone from both vampire and lycan, away from peering eyes. Her prey had been a coward, fleeing the mansion property immediately after their invasion. The disloyalty was almost shameful. On the forest floor she gripped tight to the beast pinned beneath her, the lycan was sweet, though far from the taste of Lucia’s pet, it’s heat was truly satisfying. The lycan’s final spasm sent shivers down the vampire’s spine. She pulled away, licking clean her lips of any remaining blood. Standing she returned to the battle.
The vampire was eager to return to the field of battle. Lycan blood running rampant through her veins felt like a never ending source of adrenaline. Catherine was ready, somewhere here tonight, she would find Perrin’s heir. Either the boy or the girl. Standing by the driveway staring at the chaos as it unfolded she scanned the battlefield. Stark white fur, with golden eyes, neither were anywhere to be seen. By the property was large, as was the mansion. Her eyes flickered as gunfire was aimed in her direction. She begun to move, left and then right, avoiding the bullets easily, locating the source of her assailant. The third floor, by the windows. Disappearing behind the trees, losing her attacker, only to round back around picking up speed, Catherine lunged into the air. Easily clearing the floors, crashing through the window and straight into the gunmen. Both went sprawling to the floor, by the vampire was far quicker. She was standing above the beast, as its partner a second gunmen preoccupied with their own window, scampered to their feet. Before he could take aim, she was upon him, slapping the gun aside, she glanced between both lycan. They stared back, fear in their eyes, neither could shift it seem. She smiled predatorily.
It was impossible to not indulge, Lucia had been correct, Catherine had many to choose from, she’d helped herself to both of the gunmen. A man and a woman, one in each arm, held hard to the wall, she’d tasted each once, before deciding the woman was sweeter. Draining her till she collapsed to the floor, Catherine returned her attention to the man. She took until he was unable to stand, as the beast slumped to his knees, Catherine held his head up against her torso. “That wasn’t so bad.” She said, sighing softly. Glancing to meet the lycan’s gaze. “ I’ve spared you to help me. Unless you wish to join your partner, I expect cooperation. Your death would last far longer than her’s.” She said, holding his gaze. As he nodded she smiled. “Good, now tell me, where can I find Adele? White fur, golden eyes. Call to her for me.” Holding his hands in her. Without warning she twisted his wrist, snapping it, he let out a cry. “Outside- I think she’s outside, in the hall.” Catherine smiled. “I said, call to her.” Holding his head in both hands as he nodded again. The lycan for a moment turned his gaze to the side, as he seemed to focus on something. “Ther-” Catherine twisted his head as he spoke, easily snapping his neck, she approached the doorway. “Oh Adddyy.”

“Yes, I promise we are on our way. We will see you tonight.” Okello said, hanging up his phone and placing it upon the bed stand. Lying was not his strong suit, but he’d no choice. Adele refused to stay at the safe room, even after what had been done to both. And he could not bare to leave her side. She was pack, and his sire would have his head, if Adele died fighting on her own. Standing up, to stare out the window he sighed. Besides, he wasn’t so certain if he wanted to leave as well. The pack had wronged them, well, certain members had, he could not blame all his kin, at the end of the day they were family, he could not abandon his family. Today he would not cower and hide when the monsters came for them, like he had years ago. Then he was weak, now he had power. The others if they he had said the truth, if they knew Adele and him were staying, they’d march right back here, to fight by their side. But they weren’t ready, not all of them, even those who saw combat in Rome, this was different.
From the window he saw the sparks of gunfire in the distance. Again he sighed, and stepped towards the door, glancing back at the room, Pablo’s room. He’d stayed in his sire’s room after being set free, not only was it spacious and private, but it was close to Adele, who still required supervising. The days before their capture had been grueling for her, had she even recovered yet? Taking to the hallway, he ran towards her room, knocking loudly, and then opening it at his own discretion. Addy was gone, of course. What was she doing? Adele was far from her full strength, she couldn’t take to the field. They’d been ordered to stay on the third floor, to provide support to the gunmen who could not shift, and protect them if vampires began to storm the floor and windows. Full sprint he ran towards the stairs, descending quickly. They were pack, he could feel her near. Reaching the first floor, he saw here, full formed carrying a young girl. “Adele!” He barked towards her. “We need you on the third floor. Give me the girl, I’ll make sure she’s safe.” Okello said, taking the young girl. Addy was needed there now more than him. If she was truly as strong as Pablo said. And if she didn’t let her anger get the best of her, there were no vampires that could truly threaten them. Turning his back to Addy, he carried the girl to the great hall.

Hearing her name being shouted by her packmate drew Adele's attention, and she handed the child off to him carefully, knowing she would be safe with Okello. His word was always good. Nodding to her friend, the large, white wolf sprinted back up the stairs to the third floor, expecting Okello to rejoin her when he'd seen the young girl safely to the main hall. A part of her felt better seeing her friend. She knew he'd decided to remain at the den because of her, but it was a comfort having him by her side. Especially now, with their immortal enemy at their doorstep.
As Adele reached the staircase leading to the top floor, she felt pack reaching out to her mentally. She wasn't familiar with this pup, but his fear was palpable in his thoughts; and then his presence was gone. A cold shiver ran down the young woman's spine as she hurried up the stairs, the fur along her neck and back bristling. Another lycan down. He'd needed help, and where was she?
"Oh Adddyy."
Adele's head snapped in the direction of the playful, feminine voice calling her name, and she bounded toward its source, growling hatefully into the vampire's head. "Lucia!" The prospect of a vampire knowing her name was horrifying, but even more so was the thought that this vampire knew it because something had happened to Pablo.
Rounding a corner, the vampiress' scent became stronger, and quickly Adele noticed the woman standing in the doorway of one of the rooms. The smell of lycan blood was almost overwhelming; the young woman howled, charging toward the intruder. "Wo ist Pablo!?"
Bringing a heavy paw up, Adele swung hatefully at the vampire, attempting to pin the woman to the ground under her weight. Her stark fur was already stained with the blood of one vampire, and she intended on adding Lucia's. After this, she would search out the vampire Dane.

The pounding of heavy steps down the halls was Catherine’s first sign of Adele’s arrival. The next was an angry girlish voice calling out the name of their queen. It brought a smile to her face as the lycan rounded the corner. The girl thought she was Lucia. The prospect tickled her. Her eyes settled on the charging lycan. Stark white fur, golden eyes, that was Perrin’s heir. She moved with a quickness only obtained by an elder, though it seemed not quite to the degree of her sire. It meant she would have to fight with caution. “Perrin’s heir, I am flattered, but am I not your Queen. My name is Catherine.” She said smoothly. As Addy neared the girl’s voice again entered the vampire’s head. Where was Pablo? The lycan’s concern was touching. Another smile creased her lips as she crouched slightly, prepared for the lycan’s attack. The girl’s attack was telegraphed, Adele did not seem to have the tact of her sire either. Catherine easily avoided the swipe, jumping back as the beast massive paw came crashing down. The blow shook the room and nearly left a hole in the floor. Perrin’s heir indeed.
“I have your friend.” The vampire said as she made her move. Rushing forward as Adele struck the floor, Catherine stomped on the lycan’s foot as she balled her hands together into one large fist and delivered a blow to the side of Adele’s head. She never stopped moving, Adele’s retaliation would come quickly. Catherine jumped, sinking her hand into the lycan’s fur to pull herself forward adding speed and strength to her movement, slipping through the narrow gap between Adele and the doorway. Ending up behind the lycan she kicked at the beast’s behind with a powerful strike. “He misses you, Addy. I can bring you to him, if you’d like.” She remained smirking, stepping away from the lycan till her back was to the wall of the hallway. Pushing aside the ends of her dress, revealing the two silver blades strapped to her hilt, Catherine drew her daggers.

The vampire's words didn't make sense; did she mean to say Lucia was her queen? Alena ruled the werewolves; or at least most of them. This vampire also knew she was Perrin's pup. The mention of her late sire filled her chest with fire, and she growled loud, angrily, "Vampire will never rule the lycans."
Catherine dodged her strike easily, and as Adele looked up to follow the vampire's movement with her eyes, she was struck across the head with a heavy blow. The white werewolf snarled, hate in her golden gaze, but the vampire was quick, too quick, and the young lycan stumbled forward as she was kicked from behind.
Shaking her head, Perrin's heir turned to face Catherine. This vampire moved with a speed and hit with strength that could only come from an older being. Rickter had moved with similar ease, and though Adele had been very new to lycan life when she first encountered Rickter, his skill was not something she'd been looking forward to facing again.
Yet Catherine's last words spurred the young woman's anger on. She had to be bluffing. Adele prayed the vampire was lying. Pablo was safe, back in the cave near their campground; he had to be... With no regard to the silver knives the vampire procured, Adele lunged forward, snapping at the vampire with sharp teeth. "I will bring him your mangled corpse!"

Catherine smiled, shifting her hips as the lycan turned to face her once more. The anger in Adele’s golden eyes, just like the girl’s sire, but where Perrin channeled his anger, the pup let it control her. She snarled hatefully in Catherine’s mind again as she attacked. “Now now Addy. Play nice.” This was too easy. She quickly side-stepped leaving Adele lunging forward, her teeth snapping at air as the lycan’s force carried her head into the wall. All power, and no prowess. “I don’t want to hurt you.” Catherine jammed the dagger in her right hand just above Adele’s shoulder blade. Gripping tight as the lycan went barreling into the other room, carrying the vampire with her. “Surrender Addy, be a good girl, save yourself the trouble. You can see him again.” Catherine pulled herself onto the lycan, stabbing her second blade above Adele’s other shoulder, straddling her back. The lycan’s fur was surprisingly soft, her warmth pleasing. Her sweet and soft voice growing low. “Or would you rather play a game?” She said, as she balled her fist and began to deliver blows to the lycan. Punching her along the sides of her throat and neck, clinging both fists together again hammering them against Adele’s head. “For every second your resistance, a minute of pain for Pablo. I’ll make you watch my dear, so he knows who to blame.”
